I was born Mahali (pronounced Ma-ha-di) Vera Masitise aka Letho on February 1 1981 to the most loving parents Peete and Nthabiseng Hilda in Mapoteng, Lesotho. I have one sister Masemapo and one brother Mitchell. From age 12 my family was based in South Africa where I did my High School, Tertiary Education and later on got married. I was born into a Christian family (Seventh-day Adventist) and chose Christ as my personal Saviour in 1995. My walk with The LORD has been a humbling one. I have no doubt in my heart that He loves me with all His heart.
I was married in 2000 and by God’s grace still am to the sweetest man alive; Molapo. We moved to the UK in January 2002 and have since been blessed with 3 children Realeboha aged 6, Hallelujah 2 and L’amour born September 25th 2008 with whom we shared 15 weeks of his borrowed life and are looking forward to the great reunion when our Savior comes in glory. I started singing from the age of 5 in a quartet consisting of 2 friends and my sister. We sang all over Lesotho in Camp meetings, prisons and hospitals. I remember almost every Sunday we used to go visit prisons to sing…..those were the days. I think I’d love to do that again actually! Visit hospitals and prisons and sing! There’s nothing worse than being lonely in prison or hospital and feeling no one cares at all! God does hey? And He uses us His children to portray that to the doubters! I never really stopped singing since age 5. I’ve always been a member of one singing group or the other at Church or in the Community.
2008 saw me record and release my debut album Dignified. I have since worked with 3 Artists as a Studio Backing Vocalist featuring in altogether almost 40 songs with a wide range in genre from Traditional African to Praise and Worship.
“He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defense; I shall not be moved.” Psalm 62:2
All glory and honour goes to God The Father, God The Son and God The Holy Ghost for all i am and all talents and gifts entrusted to me. He has given me the gift of singing and ministering and continues to be by my side always; singing with me and through me so I can convey what He has to say to His children whom He loves so so much in the most effective way. Thank You LORD for everything! My experiences/backround regarding music is that I went to Seventh-day Adventist boarding schools and there were always groups which sang incredibly well. I still have very fond memories of those. My mom I think is the greatest influence though. She introduced music to me from the womb. She always sang really loudly in the house (and still does may I add) which now my family has to put up with from me
.
There was always music playing in the house by different artists including Acappella, Sandi Patty, Gaithers, Heritage Singers, Wintley Phipps, The Heralds, King’s Messengers, Emmanuel, SDASA Chorale, Breathe Of Life Quartet, Faith First, Cece Winans, Rebecca Malope, Steve Kekana and later Joyous Celebration and No Limits and non-Christian music on the radio as well. Now my music collection includes, Rudy Micelli, Steve Darmody, Mmakgotso, Glad, Take 6, Voices Of Lee, Bebe Winans, Donnie Mcclurkin, Yolanda Adams, The Winans, Fred Hammond, Mary Mary, Drakensberg Boys Choir, Virtue, Juanita Bynum, Chan, Neville Peter, VOP Family Reunion Series, J Moss, Hillsong, Proclaim, Nkosi ka Ndlovu, Shower Power, Soweto Gospel Choir, Valor, Kirk Whalum’s Gospel According to Jazz, Cardet Sisters, Muyiwa, Israel Houghton and New Breed, Kirk Franklin, Blessed Voices, London Adventist Chorale, Adventist Vocal Ensemble, Croydon Gospel Choir, London Community Gospel Choir, Michelle Williams, Delirious?, Kimberly Palmer-Washington, Jana Alayra, Hillsong Kids, Val Mace Mapa, Smokie Norful, Jeniffer La’Mountain, Raymond & Co. and my favourites Soul Influence. Well; I might have left some but you get the picture hey?:-)
I just love all good music that spreads the Word really.
